Special for 2025

The Manchester Pedestrian Club is being re-thought.
The walks programme is largely suspended for the first three months, apart from regular Dunham walks.

The MPC is the second-oldest walking club in the UK, founded in 1903. It was founded to walk each Saturday, mainly on the hills around Manchester, followed by refreshment in a nearby venue.

Also occasional Festival Weekends and weekday walks.

More than 5500 walks organised since 1903.

Walking with the MPC

In the past, up to the Pandemic of 2020, walks have been organised for most Saturdays of the year in locations easily reached from Manchester - in the Pennines, Peak District, Cheshire, North Wales, etc. Most weeks there would be two walks:

However, the Pandemic disturbed that, and our walks programme is being reconsidered. Most weeks there is a walk of around 5 miles (8 km) at Dunham. Other walks will be arranged in due course.

Walks Planned for The Coming Year

Every week there is a walk at Dunham Park. Other longer walks will start soon.
