MPC Walks 1957 ("55th Season")

Of Interest (to readers in 2025):

The information below has been manually transcribed from a collection of foolscap or quarto sheets printed by a Banda process, from August 1957 onwards. (It is hoped that earlier information can be filled in, if earlier sheets are found in the Club Archive.) As far as possible the content is complete and, in most cases, follows the style given on the sheet (except that walk names on sheets are in uppercase but are rendered capitalized below. Occasionally, where the format on the paper sheet is complex, it is not followed exactly here.

Andrew Basden, Ed.

Records from 1957

[Ed. Typed in from a foolscap sheet. Not following exact format of the paper record, but content should be complete.]

President: R. B. Stanley
Walks Convenor: A. F. Rountree

The following MPC walks took place in 1957. The information below has been typed in from a collection of walk flyers and a sheet containing summary information for the year. (They are all Quarto or Foolscap size.) The collection begins with the walk on 17th August, and belonged to Albert Mills, who joined the Club on 24th August. We thank Albert for donating these flyers to the Club. If any other flyers for 1957 are found, the information about the remaining walks can be entered.

Given are the walk number and date, the name of the walk, its leader and deputy, and length. This is followed by starting time and location (and trains), and route details.
